Me and my friend Tajerah are deciding on what costumes to wear this year. Tajerah hasen't really came up with anything yet but Dirty Dana because her boyfriend is going to be Michael Jackson, I thought that was a good idea. Lady Gaga, Tina Turner or a Sailor/Military costume is what im deciding between. Some of the costumes seem to be a little too sexy so im also trying to go for Wonder Woman. It's getting harder to decide because I haven't been to a store or anything like that yet to try anything on I've been seeing everything online. What do you think I should go for? To me Lady Gaga and Tina Turner is sexy and Sailor/Military and Wonder Woman is cute ..which would be more out of the ordinary? Sexy or Cute?
Try to tie this into our Popular Culture class. What do the readings and discussions we've been having suggest about these choices? You had some strong opinions about women who feel comfortable being sexual on camera in your post on porn, and yet all of these choices are costumes in which a woman's genitals are only one inch away from public view. Do you see the possible irony here?
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing wrong with wearing skirts as long as you don't see the behind of a women as she walks. Everyone wears skirts, well women and girls to be exact. I do see what you're getting at but at the same time it is also about the size of the outfit, if it's to small then im sure the skirt would be to short but if you get a size or two sizes bigger then you should be fine. It's all about the type of person you are if you think in that perspective (getting a size bigger/smaller).
